I really need certainty around fees with my accountant and flexible payment options. Sometimes I have a quick question but I feel like each time I pick up the phone / send an email I will be charged?

We review the scope of the work required and agree a fee estimate with you before we proceed with your work. For some engagements we do offer monthly payment plans. We want you to have the freedom to ask us quick fire questions and have created complimentary phone call / email packages based on the different business structures. Whether you are a sole trader or running a larger business, we have a package to suit your needs.

I sign my financial statements each year but I never really understand the figures – does it matter?

Absolutely, it does matter. You can’t change the past but you can use past results to help you to improve future cashflow, increase profit margins and set up / adjust your strategic business plan. The first step is to understand where you have been. We offer a complimentary annual accounts meeting to all our business clients (up to 60 minutes) to help you understand what we have compiled, discuss the financial results and the next steps you should consider to help you achieve your financial & personal goals.

I sometimes just say yes and nod my head in agreement but when accounting jargon is spoken – I lose interest

This is not as uncommon as you think. We will endeavour to keep it in simple layman’s terms or we can get as in depth and technical as you would like us to. Either way, what matters is that we explain it in a way that you have the tools and knowledge that you need to make important decisions and run your business efficiently & productively.

I seem to be paying a lot of tax but where is the cash from increased profits?

Cash is king and cashflow management is vital for any business to succeed. We will help you understand your cashflow, plan for big outflows and support you to monitor it regularly.

I’m new in business – am I too small?

Not at all, we have a lot of clients starting out and we love to support you through your business journey. We will help you understand what you can claim, what your tax obligations are and will help you to obtain a tax discount in your first year of business.

I need an accountant but I am not based in Wellington. Is this ok?

Yes, with technology we are no longer bound to serving locally based clients only. We are also more than happy to travel to you and meet with you as the need arises.
